Caring for Your Vehicle
Aluminium Components
Aluminium will corrode from contact with dirt, mud, or road salt. Clean aluminium parts regularly and follow these guidelines to avoid scratches:
Do not use stiff brushes, steel wool, or cleaners containing abrasives.
Avoid riding over or scraping against curbs.
Cylinder head
The cylinder head contains cooling fins that have no surface treatment on the edges.
Clean and dry it regularly. To prevent rust and corrosion, use a wax that does not contain abrasives to the edges of the cooling fins.
If rust occurs, apply wax containing abrasives only to the processed area.
Do not polish painted areas with wax containing abrasives.
Do not use acidic or alkaline detergents.
Do not use stiff brushes, steel wool, or sandpaper.
