Honda E-Clutch
CB500FAC/CBR500RAC/CB500XAC
Honda E-Clutch allows you to start, stop, and change gears without clutch lever operation.
When the vehicle is in gear (gear position number is displayed) without clutch lever operation, be careful not to open the throttle when pushing or pulling the vehicle back and forth or when turning the handlebar while stationary or at low speeds.
If you do so, you may cause the vehicle to unexpectedly and strongly surge forward and lose control.
Honda E-Clutch function can be turned off from meter setting.
If you operate the clutch lever while Honda E-Clutch function is on, Honda E-Clutch function will deactivate temporarily with auto clutch control indicator turning off. When vehicle is stopped, shift to Neutral (or you can start with clutch lever operation). When vehicle is running, wait a few seconds for Honda E-Clutch to reactivate.
Each time the ignition switch is turned to the
(On) position, the Honda E-Clutch function will be turned on automatically.
Clutch lever freeplay will increase after ignition switch is turned to the
(On) position with gear position in Neutral, or when the engine is running. This is normal.
If the PGM-FI (Programmed Fuel Injection) malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) comes on, the Honda E-Clutch function may be turned off.
Always use the recommended tyres and sprockets to ensure correct Honda E-Clutch operation.
If clutch lever freeplay is improperly adjusted, the Honda E-Clutch may not work.
