Unlock the Power Switch in an Emergency

Set up to ID number input mode

  • Check the ID number on the ID tag.
  • Press and hold the power switch for more than 4 seconds.
  • The Honda SMART Key indicator flashes.
  • Press the power switch while the Honda SMART Key indicator is flashing.
  • The Honda SMART Key indicator stay lit, and the ID number input mode turns on.

    You can input your ID number by pressing the power switch when the power switch is (Off), (Lock) or SEAT position. Input the ID number on the ID tag in order from the left in turn by pressing the power switch.

    The ID number is authenticated according to the number of times the power switch is pushed.

    Push the power switch the desired number of times within 5 seconds when the Honda SMART Key indicator comes on. After 5 seconds, the Honda SMART Key indicator goes off and comes on again. This means that the inputted number is fixed, and you can input the next number.

  • If the Honda SMART Key indicator does not come on, the battery may be low.

    • Contact your dealer.


    Example:

  • To input “0”, wait for 5 seconds without pushing the power switch when the Honda SMART Key indicator comes on.
  • To input “1”, push the power switch once within 5 seconds when the Honda SMART Key indicator comes on.

    ID number input success

    After the last ID number is input, the Honda SMART Key indicator goes off, and when it comes on again the power switch is unlocked.

    Turn the power switch to the (On) position within 6 minutes. You can activate the motor.

    To lock the power switch, turn the power switch to the SEAT, (Off), or (Lock) position, and press and hold the power switch for 2 seconds. The power switch also locks automatically when the power switch has been in the SEAT, (Off), or (Lock) position for about 6 minutes after the ID number is successfully inputted.

    When the power switch is locked, the Honda SMART Key indicator goes off, the turn signals flash once.

    The buzzer also rings at this time (except ED,II ED type).

    To unlock the power switch again, repeat the procedure for unlocking the power switch.


    ID number input failure

    After the last ID number is input, the Honda SMART Key indicator flash at 1 second intervals, and then go off.

  • Except ED,II ED type

    • The buzzer also rings at this time.

    The power switch does not unlock.


    Redo the “Unlock the Power Switch in an Emergency” procedure.


    ID number input cancel

    If you make a mistake while inputting your ID, do one of the following:

  • Press and hold the power switch until the Honda SMART Key indicator to turn off.
  • Except ED,II ED type

    • The buzzer also rings at this time.

  • Do not press the power switch, just wait for the Honda SMART Key indicator to turn off.


    • Redo the “Unlock the Power Switch in an Emergency” procedure.
