Wheels Rims & Spokes

Keeping the wheels true (round) and maintaining correct spoke tension is critical to safe vehicle operation.

Excessively loose spokes may result in instability at high speeds and possible loss of control.

It is not necessary to remove the wheels to perform the recommended service in the Maintenance Schedule.

  • Inspect the wheel rims and spokes for damage.
  • Tighten any loose spokes.
  • Use the ballpoint hexagon wrench with a length of 140 mm (5.5 in) or more.
  • Rotate the wheel slowly to see if it appears to “wobble.” If it does, the rim is out of round or not “true.” If the wobble is noticeable, see your dealer for inspection.
