Handsfree Calling

Using Bluetooth® Handsfree Calling

Bluetooth® handsfree calling allows you to make and receive phone calls using your vehicle's audio system, without handling your mobile phone.

To use the handsfree calling, you need a Bluetooth® compatible mobile phone and Bluetooth® headsets.

  • You cannot operate the handsfree calling functions by the touch screen while the vehicle is in motion.
  • If Bluetooth® connection is unstable due to surrounding conditions or radio wave conditions, the handsfree calling functions may not be available.
  • While talking, you may be hard to hear due to wind noise during running or external noise. In that case, try to change the position of the microphone or to adjust the windscreen height.
  • Preparation

  • Connect with the paired mobile phone.
  • The phonebook is updated after every connection. Call history is updated after every connection or call.
  • Connect the paired rider headset.
  • Select [Phone], and then press the ENT switch.
  • Return to the riding information, previous screen or Home screen.
  • You can also perform the above settings by using the touch screen.

    Making a Call

    You can make calls by inputting a phone number or by using the phonebook, call history or speed dial entries.


    To change the call mode, push or on the sel left/right switch.

    Changes the call modes as follows:

    [Call History] [Speed Dial] [Contacts] [Dial Number] [Settings]

  • Certain manual functions are disabled while the vehicle is in motion. You cannot select a greyed-out option until the vehicle is stopped.
  • Only previously stored speed dial entries and call history can be called while the vehicle is in motion.

  • To adjust the phone volume:


    To Make a Call Using the Call History [Call History]

    You can make a call using the call history while the vehicle is in motion.

    Call history displays the last 30 dialled, received, or missed calls.

  • Select [Call History].
  • Select the phone number you want to call, and then press the ENT switch.
  • (blue): Dialled call

    (blue): Received call

    (red): Missed call


  • To end the call, push forward the voice control switch on the left handlebar.
  • The same action can be done by selecting [End Call] on the screen.
  • Return to the riding information, previous screen or Home screen.
  • You can also perform the above settings by using the touch screen.


    To Make a Call Using a Speed Dial Entry [Speed Dial]

    You can make a call using the speed dial while the vehicle is in motion.

    To make a call using the speed dial, you need to store the speed dial number in advance.

    Up to 20 speed dial numbers can be stored.

  • Select [Speed Dial].
  • Select a person you want to call, and then press the ENT switch.
  • Dialling starts automatically.

  • To end the call, push forward the voice control switch on the left handlebar.
  • The same action can be done by selecting [End Call] on the screen.
  • Return to the riding information, previous screen or Home screen.
  • You can also perform the above settings by using the touch screen.


    To Make a Call Using the Phonebook [Contacts]

    This function is disabled while the vehicle is in motion.

  • Stop the vehicle.
  • Select [Contacts].
  • The phonebook is stored alphabetically.
  • Select a name, and then press the ENT switch to set your selection.

  • Select the phone number you want to call, and then press the ENT switch.
  • To end the call, push forward the voice control switch on the left handlebar.
  • The same action can be done by selecting [End Call] on the screen.
  • Return to the riding information, previous screen or Home screen.
  • You can also perform the above settings by using the touch screen.


    To Make a Call Using a Phone Number [Dial Number]

    This function is disabled while the vehicle is in motion.

  • Select [Dial Number].
  • Press the sel switch or sel switch or push or on the sel left/right switch to enter a number, and then press the ENT switch to set the number.
  • When using [+]: Select [0], and then press and hold the ENT switch.
  • Select [CALL], and then press the ENT switch to make a call.
  • To cancel the call, press the ENT switch.
  • When making a call 1 second after the ENT switch pressed: Select [+ Wait], and then press the ENT switch.
  • When making a call 2 seconds after the ENT switch pressed: Select [+ 2 sec], and then press the ENT switch.
  • To end the call, push forward the voice control switch on the left handlebar.
  • The same action can be done by selecting [End Call] on the screen.
  • Return to the riding information, previous screen or Home screen.
  • You can also perform the above settings by using the touch screen.


    To Store a Phone Number in the Speed Dial List

    Speed dial numbers can be stored.

  • Select [Speed Dial].
  • Select [Add Speed Dial], and then press the ENT switch.
  • The phonebook appears.
  • Select the phone number you want to store, and then press and hold the ENT switch.
  • The phone number will be stored in the speed dial list.

  • Return to the riding information, previous screen or Home screen.
  • You can also perform the above settings by using the touch screen.


    To Delete a Stored Speed Dial Number

  • Select [Settings].
  • Select the [Edit Speed Dial], and then press the ENT switch.
  • Select the phone number you want to delete, and then press and hold the ENT switch.
  • Return to the riding information, previous screen or Home screen.
  • You can also perform the above settings by using the touch screen.

    Receiving a Call

    When there is an incoming call, an audible notification sounds and the Incoming Call screen appears.


    Ring Tone

    If the connected mobile phone supports “in band ring tone”, the ring tone stored on the phone sounds automatically while receiving a call.

    If “in band ring tone” is not supported, the ring tone stored in the audio system sounds.


    To Receive a Call

    When a call comes in, push forward the voice control switch on the left handlebar to receive the call.

  • The same action can be done by selecting [Answer] on the screen.

    To Decline a Call

    When a call comes in, push forward and hold the voice control switch on the left handlebar to reject a call.

  • To End a Call

    While talking, push forward the voice control switch on the left handlebar to end the call.
