Adjusting the Front Suspension

Spring Preload

CRF1100A/D

You can adjust the spring preload by the adjuster to suit the load or the road surface.

Turn the adjuster using the box end wrench provided in the tool kit.

The spring preload adjuster has 15 turns. Turn clockwise to increase spring preload (hard), or turn counterclockwise to decrease spring preload (soft).

CRF1100A

The standard position is the 3 turns from the full soft position.

CRF1100D

The standard position is the 6 turns from the full soft position.

Adjuster

NOTICE

Do not turn the adjuster beyond its limits.

Adjust both left and right forks to the same spring preload.

Rebound Damping

CRF1100A/D

You can adjust the rebound damping by the adjuster to suit the load or the road surface.

Turn the adjuster using the Standard/Phillips screwdriver provided on the underside of the rear seat.

The rebound damping adjuster has 3 turns or more.

Turn clockwise to increase rebound damping (hard), or turn counterclockwise to decrease rebound damping (soft).

The standard position is 2 3/4 turns from the maximum setting so that the punch mark on the adjuster aligns with the reference punch mark.

Compression Damping

CRF1100A/D

You can adjust the compression damping by the adjuster to suit the load or the road surface.

Turn the adjuster using the Standard/Phillips screwdriver provided on the underside of the rear seat.

The compression damping adjuster has 12 position or more.

Turn clockwise to increase compression damping (hard), or turn counterclockwise to decrease compression damping (soft).

The standard position is 9 clicks from the maximum setting.

CRF1100A3/A4/D3/D4/DL4

  • When the riding mode is changed, front suspension damping is automatically selected to a setting corresponding to the riding mode.
  • You can change the [S] [Overall] and [Front] on the [USER 1 MODE] and [USER 2 MODE] of the riding mode.

  • [Overall]: [H] Hard / [M] Medium / [S] Soft / [O] Off Road
