Storing Your Vehicle
If you store your vehicle outdoors, you should consider using a full-body cover.
If you won't be riding for an extended period, follow these guidelines:
To prevent the high voltage battery from degrading, keep the high voltage battery gauge at 30 % and store your vehicle somewhere cool.
|
Recommended temperature: 0 to 35 °C |
When you store your vehicle, check the high voltage battery gauge once a month. If it goes down to 10 %, charge your vehicle until it gets to 30 %.
|
NOTICE
Do not store your vehicle at 10 % for an extended period of time, as it may cause the high voltage battery to malfunction.
Do not store your vehicle fully charged, as it may further degradation. |
Wash your vehicle and wax all painted surfaces (except mat painted surfaces). Coat chrome pieces with rust-inhibiting oil.
Place your vehicle on a maintenance stand and position a block so that both tyres are off the ground.
After rain, remove the body cover and allow the vehicle to dry.
Remove the 12 V battery () to prevent discharge. Fully charge the 12 V battery and then place it in a shaded, well-ventilated area.
If you leave the 12 V battery in place, disconnect the negative ⊝ terminal to prevent discharge.
After removing your vehicle from storage, fully charge the high voltage battery and inspect all maintenance items required by the Maintenance Schedule.
